My Story
I joined Curves on February 12, 2009.

My husband received a liver and kidney transplant on October 1, 2007. The transplants were successful; however, complications occurred due to a fungal infection as a result of being immune suppressed. My husband spent the better part of two years in a hospital approximately 600 km from our home, and was finally discharged on February 25, 2009 into my care. Since that time, I have been unable to leave my husband alone.

In order for me to do something for myself and relieve some stress in the process, my Mom offered to come three mornings a week so that I could exercise. I chose Curves for a few reasons. My daughter had been attending Curves and thought I should give it a try. A deciding factor for me was that I could exercise in just under an hour as time is of the essence. When my Mom is unable to come, I try to figure out a way to get my exercise three times a week. It is a priority for me and because of my current situation, I now view exercise as a privilege - I just can't exercise any time - I have to plan my exercise times. I give exercise at Curves top priority, and I now choose to exercise over other activities.

I like attending Curves for many reasons. My time is limited to be away from home, and I can get an effective workout three times a week in approximately an hour each time. The CurvesSmart program is the best ever! The circuit program keeps me on track and motivates me to work harder. The feedback CurvesSmart provides is great! I like to see my progress and, in particular, the areas that need improving. In addition, the stretching station is awesome! Also, the Curves trainers are very helpful in providing pointers as needed. All in all, I feel great after a Curves workout, and I've even managed to lose some weight and inches in the process!
