My Story
In April of 2004 at 333lbs, my doctor informed me that I was diabetic. She sent me off with instruction to see a dietician. While waiting for my appointment with the dietician, I picked up a magazine to help the time go by. The magazine was a Diane magazine. I proceeded to read about Curves and how it helped real women lose weight in an environment that was comfortable. I was determined to change. I refused to continue what I had been doing. I began walking a mile a day and subsequently joined Curves on Feb 26th, 2005. I was very dedicated to my workouts and came 3-4 times a week. I worked out hard on the machines and though it wasnt easy, through Curves and my change in eating habits I started to drop the weight. I weigh in currently at 247lbs. I feel more confident about myself and love it. At Curves I not only enjoy the workouts but also the friendships I have made. I look forward to the camaraderie and encouragement I receive while working out. I also love all the great tips on healthy eating and other ways to improve my daily nutrition. I know that Curves helped strengthen me inside and out. With determination and the right motivation I proved to myself that I can do it!!
