My Story
"Caroline is honest. Now we all like to think were honest, but Carolines ability to pull away any filmy curtains that blur the truth would leave most of us stuck in the proverbial corner for embroidering the truth with our own special thread. She was a cancer survivor, but renewed tumor growth changed her status to cancer fighter. During our interview Caroline was having trouble catching her breath and graciously explained that she had developed some respiratory problems after chemotherapy and might need to take a tea break or two during our visit. There is a touch of the Rock in her lilt and it turns out that Caroline did grow up in Newfoundland. Her father was a fisherman and things were tight, even so, she appreciates what she has and doesnt begrudge anyone. After all, theres plenty to go around, she says. I wonder how she manages so many endeavors along with her health concerns. Its one day at a time, she said after a break. I do what I can, whether its business development or fitness training. Ive learned to listen to my body. Thats great advice for anyone! Ive developed new interests while in recovery and rediscovered some old ones.----On days when I dont feel like making the effort to pull myself together Ill have to remember Carols spunk. Because lets be honest, we all feel a lot better when we know were looking our best." . . --- I suspect that a little of Carolines enthusiasm and generous spirit is rubbing off on those around her."
Health & Memories
by: Gabriole Wilson

The above is an exerpt taken from an interview done by a writer for Roaring Women, a networking organization. It was published to their site about two years ago as part of my business profile.

How have I been doing since that time? Well, I've added breast cancer & rheumatoid arthritis to my list of health concerns. Oh yes, I have been on oxygen 24 hours daily for the past 7 months.

However, I do my best to get to Curves 3 times a week (with my oxygen tank as my buddy!). Sometimes I can't do the full workout, but that's OK. At least I keep my body moving & active, right! I like to think that my perseverance is a source of encouragement to fellow members.

I have attended the fitness & weight management classes & have found a wealth of information & support there!

Recently, I started on the Curves Smart program with a goal of measuring how much stronger I'm getting. Of course, any weight loss would be an extra bonus!

Curves is a very important part of my life. As long as I can get through the door "on my own power", I'll be there!
