My Story
I started losing weight in Jan 2008 by joining LA Weight Loss. I knew I needed additional help with my weight loss and to gain more flexibility, strength and muscle tone. I also needed more self confidence. I joined Curves in February 2009. My husband found out he had throat cancer in April 2008 and it was very hard and important that I am healthy for not only myself but my two children a daughter, Tiffany age 8 and a son William age 14. They needed me healthy. So now my husbands cancer is gone but the radiation has hurt him and he can't work as it took his right arm function away and he still has a feeding tube. So I am juggling home, finances, my work. I work for the state of Ky and I am a caseworker. So I see people daily and hear their stories of heartache and suffering even though I am enduring my own. So I started out at 280 pounds and now I am at 207 pounds and my goal is 27 pounds away!! I have started going in to Curves in the mornings and working out 4 times a week since this past few months and I can tell it is helping. I feel better and I seem to have a better day also as a result. Once I lose the 27 pounds I will have lost 100.00 pounds!! I can't believe it!! I love Curves and I really look forward to going and to exercising there. The people that work there are great and they even listen to my problems. I want to continue going there to maintain my weight loss as well! My husband is not doing that well and I hope and pray he will get better. He still can't eat and is in therapy to help him to eat. But he can't work and do a whole lot and so I am sort of doing it all and it is tough. So with the weight loss I am able to do more. My husband says I look better than I have in a long time and my kids see that I can do more than I have in a long time as well. I went through my closet this past weekend and bagged up 4 big forceflex bags of clothes and gave away to my niece! I was so happy that I got rid of all my "Big" clothes and now I am wearing things I never thought I would wear or things I kept that now I am able to wear again! Thanks so much Curves!!
