My Story
As an employee at Cuves,my story is not one to be voted on. However, is surly one that I felt to share with my extended Curves family.

In August 2003 Curves opened its door to Labrador City, and I was thrilled to be on the Welcoming side of that door. God blessed me by placing me in this postion where I was able to be encourageing girls to get their workouts in and aid in the reaching of so many goals over the past, soon to be six years!

Little did I know that the tables would turn and I would be reaching out to my Curves family for support and encouragement.

June 12 2007 started out as every other day. Rushing around getting my two kids ready for school, packing lunches and getting myself ready for work. But the way it would end, would be like no other day my family had experienced.

Our ten year old son came home from school and entered the backyard to feed our family pet Chevy, a 6 and half year old Alaskan Malamute. He had done this everyday when he got off the bus. However, that day changed our lives. Our beloved Chevy had suffered what was confirmed to have been a heat stroke seizure and in the heat of the moment, as my son was in the wrong place at a very wrong time. Chevy bit my son on the face and head. I rushed him to the hospital were he spent four hours in surgery and 200 stitches to close the wounds to repair his head and face. Followed by a stay in the hospital, and four additional surgeries, two that had taken place at the Janeway(the Janeway ment being away from home for an extended period of time).
To experience such a traumatic event was one thing, but to lose your family pet in addition was very painful for our children.
My husband and I tried so hard to keep strong and help our kids deal with what had happened, but that is very hard when your kids are hurting and you can't fix it, cause as parents we feel we should be able to "make it all better" but sometimes life comes at you in a way you can't fix it.
So many members and Curves staff had come to visit us in our home, sent flowers, and other treats to make our day a little brighter. After taking some time off work to help with the healing process, I decided it was time to return to my Curves family. At first my fear was "how can I be as encouraging as I once was....when I felt so hurt"
You know, at Curves, it's all about creating an atmosphere that is comfortable, inviting and where our members feel welcome. Funny, cause That is just how I felt when I returned. My Curves family became my back bone and offered me the strengh, encouragement, love and support I needed that helped build me back up to be the strong woman I am. I want to thank my Curves Family for being the reason why I enjoyed going to work in those difficult days. I really want to Thank my girls at curves for turning this horrible event around for me and helping to make it a great ending for MY AMAZING STORY....LOVE YOU LOTS GIRLS..XO
