My Story
Curves truly changed my life, as it could for anyone who looks at how all its attributes may fit into their life. What do we need from a workout center and what do we want? My friends and I went to an introduction to the Curves system of a health program. Although I had never signed up for any type of club, many factors lead me to just try it.

My weight was not what I wanted it to be. My doctor had prescribed medicine for my high blood pressure, high cholesterol, pinched nerve, and loss of joy for life. I was looking for an organized physical activity that was also social as an additional great way to make some new friends. I needed to try something new and improved, but I did not have too much time to devote to the activity. I had to have a program that would fit into with my family's schedule. I wanted to do something just for me, just because I wanted to do it and could, do something that was for my own good and create a passion for whatever I did. I wanted my husband, family, and friends to see the value of a worthwhile program and encourage me to continue week after week.

Yes, I have lost enough pounds for people to notice the loss of quite a few inches. My muscle toned up a lot from the workouts by using the machines. I have sooooo much more energy that lasts throughout the work day, lean muscle, and added strength. My pinched nerve never hurts anymore and my prescriptions have been significantly reduced or are not even needed any more! The money I have saved in medicines alone has paid my membership.

The Curves Smart system came along within the last year. I noticed a dramatic increase in my ability to work hard! I had thought I worked hard before, BUT now there is even more accountability! I have seen positive increases in all the charts. So then, my trainers and I decided to set additional goals for myself.

I decided that I wanted to increase my PI to 200. I was in the mid-100s, so I thought this will be quite the challenge. As of today, I am well over 200!! My new goal is for 300! I am constantly setting goals for myself to achieve. I have recently racked up over 800 workouts at "my" Curves!! I proudly wear my t-shirt that depicts this number as a badge of honor.

Thanks to Curves owner Marina Sizing and the staff at the Curves in Seminole, FL, the past six years have made fitness a permanent part of my life. I thank them for, not only answering my questions, correcting use of the machines and workouts, helping me learn new research about health related issues, and keeping me motivated, but for also helping me become the woman I was created to become. It is not about keeping an eye on my weight and my waist, but helping me to become that butterfly, I am meant to be.

How can I describe what Curves means to me? If it has been
a work of art, it would be priceless;
a food, it would be a culinary art;
a song, it would be a masterpiece
an education, it would be highest student achievement;
a movie, it would be an Oscar winner;
a baseball team, it would be a world series winner;
a contest, I would be an American Idol
I think you get my point. :-}
