My Story
i am a diabetic, and I am trying to control it without medication. Based on everything I've read and what my doctor told me, exercise is key to helping me achieve that goal. When you exercise, your muscles use up glucose from your blood. Diabetics have insulin resistance, which means glucose from our blood has difficulty getting in our muscles. But repeated exercise causes muscles to become more receptive to the glucose in our blood. As soon as I was diagnosed, I started working out 5 times a week, at Curves. So far, it has worked. I am still controlling my diabetes with exercise and healthy eating.
