My Story
Near the end of 2007, I finally decided that enough was ENOUGH! I have always carried excess weight, and am fine with doing so, as long as I was fit enough to do the activities I wanted to do. When I quit smoking, my weight ballooned, and my fitness and overall health was starting to suffer. So on the advice of my doctor, I joined my local Curves.

The support that we the members give each other, along with the support and services provided by the owners and staff truly make My Curves a great place. For someone who has always hated exercising for the sake of exercising, I amazed myself by actually looking forward to my workouts.

But even with that support, I initially found it very hard to change my routine to accommodate 3 weekly visits. It took the better part of my first 100 workouts, but I'm finally in the swing of it. Once Curves was part of my regular routine, I signed up for CurvesSmart, and cannot believe the difference.

My workout intensity has been ramped up at least double what I was doing, and the immediate feedback from the system helps to keep me focussed on my individual goals.

Fewer than 50 workouts on CurvesSmart, and my target has increased by ~100 points, and my calorie burn is always in the high 500s (all time high of 664 and counting!)

The addition of morning protein shakes has helped me to stop my previously required mid-morning snack, as well. Further, I no longer want the heavier meals of high carbohydrates and can easily walk past the sweet tray. So although I'm not consciously working on changing my diet, those changes are happening as a pleasant side-effect!

But most importantly, I'm feeling better about myself. I feel taller and thinner, and am facing each day with more self-confidence.

The women of Curves, the circuit system, and the extra-ordinary feedback from CurvesSmart have all very much added to my enjoyment of life. For that, I thank you all.
