My Story
Well I am one of those who embrace everything that I have as a gift, but coming close to 280lbs at the age of 21 years old was beyond "Big and Beautiful" in my eyes. I of course had tried other gyms, but never did any of them seem to really care about my outcome. My Curves location is stocked with staff that keeps me motivated and helps me track my success or downfalls. When I started going to Curves I was in a size 22 and climbing. It came to the point where I was beginning to become depressed for the first time in my life. Being a full time student and employee and partial business owner added to the stress, which adds its own level of unhealthy habits in itself But enough of the same ole same ole sob story; Ive never been one to mope. I decided to change it. I believe you can achieve anything with the proper tools. Funny thing is most of those tools you already have; self-motivation, self-praise, will power (yes we all have that little muscle too), self-love and many more. With these little tools and the help of Curves I have worked down to a size 16 and 234lbs. My Journeys not over yet, but as of now, I know I am on the right track and I KNOW I will be right where I should be by this time next year. Im hoping to win this competition for a trip to Mexico with my boyfriend in November. He has loved me through the near 300 lbs stage and will forever be part of my inspirational team. Were going to Mexico either way, but the extra money for the new bikini and clothes would be the cherry on my cake. Metaphorically speaking of course.maybe I should say the cherry on my no-fat sorbet! : ) Im blessed to have an inspirational team such as Victoria and the others at my Curves club, my family and friends. I can only hope that other members experience the mind and body transformation that I have by being a member of Curves. I just try to remember that its not about the weight lost; its about the ability to take control of your life and form it to where you want to be. Physical is just one platform of you; once you know you have the ability to make over and renovate that part, the other parts are inspired to follow. Thanks Curves and Good Luck to all who are on their own personal journey to a healthier you!
