My Story
When I joined Curves I was using a walker to get around. I had had surgery that went seriously wrong and it very nearly killed me. However, it did leave me with nerve damage in my left leg and hand. I wanted so very much to get stronger. There was a Curves just a country block away and I looked at it every time I drove by which was very often. I kept thinking "I wish I could go there" but I always felt because of my bad leg it wouldn't be for me. Then I went to a LifeStyle Expo held in town and I visited the Curves booth. The woman working was an instructor and she managed to get me past my feeling of inadequacy. She gave me a free pass and I went within just a couple of days. I was sure I had to stay with it from that first visit. I am so glad I did. I got stronger. No more walkers or canes or wheelchairs. I was walking so much better. I was able to step up on a curb and do stairs. These things had been challenges for me before I became strenghtened through my Curves workouts. Another thing, I am diabetic. My medication was reduced because of the workouts. I am so happy about that.
Just recently I got "Smart". I am working even harder and watching my progress. I am eager to see how I have done and improved every workout with my Smart tag.
The staff in the Bancroft Curves are very helpful and always looking for ways to enhance our Curves workouts. They're a great bunch and I appreciate their efforts.
I plan to stick with Curves. I'm working even harder to get fit. Since I started Smart, I have been working harder on my diet as well. I feel I am working so hard that I need to watch my caloric intake as well. I don't want one to work against the other.
I'm constantly promoting Curves to my family, friends and even strangers *smile*. Anyone who sits near me is in for an earful of Curves and the benefits of working out there.
If they would let me I'd workout twice a day every day! But I manage to get there 5 nights a week. Now that they are open on Saturday mornings again, I will try to get in sometimes during those hours.
I just LOVE Curves! I could become a Curves junkie! haha
