My Story
I've always been one of those women who have exercised and been 'big'. When younger I lifeguarded and taught swimming; and over the years I took every type of exercise class that came along from Jazzercise to Bellydancing. I swam at the YMCA before work almost every day for 10 years and still managed to gain an average of 5-10 lbs every year. I also joined every weight loss program there was. They were all good programs, especially weight watchers. But I would always lose 20 - 30 lbs. and quit and then gain it back, plus. I retired from my job at age 50 and joined Curves the next month. I love it! Curves is really close to my home and every time you walk in the door you're greeted by name. I've done the circuit with old friends and new friends and talked about movie reviews, shows in Branson, laughed about places we've been, tans we've had, and gotten advice about kids and cooking. To be honest I joined the Curves Diet Plan - loved it - lost 20 lbs., and gained it back. Then December of 2007 I had gastric bypass surgery at 295 lbs. With no problems I started back to Curves - I'm not kidding - one week after the surgery. Now a year and a half later I'm 80 lbs lighter. I'm a size 16 - still no light weight but I feel great and look good! I go to Curves 3 days a week and still love it. When we started monitoring workouts on each machine I was skeptical but I think anyone would say it's just made me work harder. My doctor thinks Curves is great too. So from the Branson area, the country music capitol of the world, I say Yee Haw - keep on Curving!
