My Story
After trying physio and acupuncture for back problems that were starting to affect my ability to walk, I felt I had nothing to lose by trying the Curves system of exercising. This was in spite of trying another gym years before that left me with the impression this would be yet another waste of money and only reinforce the idea that any form of structured exercise could be best described as a four-letter word.

How wrong I was! After only a little over a year, the changes and benefits Ive gotten from the program are amazing, even to a skeptic like me. Even though my back will always be a problem, the pain levels are considerably lower, which enables me to do a lot more work than before. While I thought I had accomplished as full a range of motion as possible following a double mastectomy, the Curves program actually increased it further"again also decreasing the pain levels in my shoulder joints. My doctors also feel that this program will serve to keep my heart blockages at bay and will probably even decrease them so that I, hopefully, will not have another cardiac event.

The benefits didnt stop there, either. So far, Ive lost 16 inches, 11 pounds, and my body fat is steadily going down, all in only these few months. There is no time to become bored with repetitive exercises since one is constantly on the move from one station to the next, yet all muscle groups are involved in each circuit. Staff and clients alike are friendly and personable, making each session interesting and enjoyable, yet each full workout doesnt take a great amount of time. While many people, like me, have limitations as a result of age, injury, or health, the system is designed and geared accordingly to accommodate each individual. There is no pressure to perform or to keep increasing the workout times and weights.

Barring an unforeseen event, I certainly intend to continue going to Curves for a long time to come.
