My Story
Thank goodness Curves came to Decorah! Those long, cold winters I needed a place to exercise besides walking.
7 years ago, (August 2002) I joined Curves.
I joined with the very important issue of the weight-bearing thing in mind. At first, I just worked out 3 days a week and no other exercise. I noticed I was feeling stronger but not much weight change.
In January 2003 I had a physical and found that my cholesterol and blood pressure were both looking too high. Medication was suggested, but I thought there must be a better way than medication. So after some studying on the subject, I decided I could avoid medication through diet and exercise. I decided to try the no sugar or white flour or white rice, etc. With that in mind, my plan of attack was Curves at least 3 times a week with other exercise. Believe it or not, Im 20 pounds lighter and 3 pants sizes smaller. I now have a normal blood pressure reading and a good cholesterol ratio. I think the stretching (which is like yoga) is equally if not more important than exercise. I say a big THANK YOU TO CURVES!
