My Story
I was 24 years old, had a two year old daughter, smoked 2.5 packs of cigarettes a day, and weighed over 220 lbs. I would come home from work and be so tired that I would cook dinner, eat way too much, and then just sit around until time to go to bed.
One day my grandmother was telling me about how she was going to Curves and loved it, so I needed to go to. I decided that if my grandmother could do it that I could too! Then there was a email sent out at work saying that if you join a gym they will pay the start-up fee. That was it, I did not have anymore excuses. I looked online and noticed that there was a Curves close to my job, went up there and signed up. That was the new beginning! I loved working out! I started feeling better, and then when I saw the results I was amazed, that motivated me to continue. After about a year at curves I decided that I was going to stop smoking. I told all of my curves buddies and they encouraged me to stop. Then about another year later I felt so good that I started running. Now almost 4 years from the first time I walked into a curves I have lost over 85lbs, have not smoked in 2 years, and just completed my first Half Marathon in April!! I could not have done this with out the help and support from my family, friends, and Curves family! I enjoying telling people my story and hope that they will see that if I can do it, they can too! Getting and trying to stay healthy is one of the best things I have ever done for myself!
