My Story
My story, I feel like a student returing to school after summer vacation only I didn't go on a vacation. You can probably tell I was a teacher. No more. I joined Curves in 2004 and loved it. I did very well with the program.
Then in 2005 I started moving slow. It was an effort to attend classes after trying to teach all day. My mother became ill with Dementia and went into an assisstant living facility. I got to where I could not function so I took a leave of absence from work beginning in November of 2005. I was falling down and my toes would curl up and many other things. On July 31st I was told I had Parkinsons. In three weeks time I gave up the walker and went to a cane. I also went to 600plus pills per month by December of 2008. I was recommended for DBS Deep Brain Stimuulation. I had part one of the surgery on February 3, 2009 and part 2 on February 17th. When I went to my doctor on May first he gave me permission to return to Curves. I joined in June of 2009. At my first weigh-in I lost 2.8 pounds; 2.41% body fat, and 10.5 inches. I'm back and I'm happy and I'm very proud of myself! That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!
