My Story
In January of this year, the company I work for, McDonalds, decided to start a "biggest loser" type of competition, called the "McFit Challenge" to help people lead healthier lifestyles. I was reluctant to join, but at the same time Curves began their weight management classes and I saw that as a sign that I needed to do something! The contest began on January 15 and I went to the first session of the weight management classes on January 17. I began the program on January 19. I continued my 3 times weekly workouts with Curves, followed the higher protein weight management program, by preparing recipes straight from the book for all meals, and lost 7 pounds in the first week! I couldn't believe it!! I had always tried to watch what I ate by limiting fat intake in my diet, and went to curves regularly, but my weight had bascially remained the same. I was thrilled to find a plan that actually worked for me. I continued to lose at least 2 pounds a week throughout the course of the contest with my work and by the last weigh-in on April 15, had lost a total of 27 pounds. I was the store winner, and won $150, plus I was the company winner, and the owner of our stores paid my membership to Curves for a whole year. There was so much excitement about the first contest, we decided to do a round 2, and so far I am in the lead. Since January 19, I have lost a total of 42 pounds all by following the Curves weight management and working out at least 3 times a week. I have not become bored with my food choiced or discouraged with my progress at all since I began. I am happy to say that I am halfway to my goal weight and know that Curves weight management program is helping me get there!
