My Story
In 2002 I was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of breast cancer. So at the age of 42 I underwent a bi-lateral mastectomy, and 6 months of chemotherapy. I had a wonderful support system made up of family, friends, and co-workers, these people made my treatment period pass with little discomfort. I have always been a very active person and was able to keep myself in good physical condition by non-structured activities. However, one of my on going trearments was a drug called tamoxifen. My doctors warned of its many side effects! I dealt with most of them in stride. The weight gain (on average 20lbs) was intolerable for me. I made a family announcement that I needed to join a gym. My mom tried to encourage me to try Curves, she had already been a member for a few years. I was apprehensive, because of the (OLD LADY) reputation that Curves sometimes carries. I looked into another gym but I didn't want a unisex gym. So I came with my mom to Curves. This was the best thing I have ever done. Within a few weeks I had dropped a few pounds and tightened my body in places I wasn't aware needed tightening. The 30 minute workout is so attractive and most of all I have fun with the other members!! Four years later I am now a circuit coach at Curves and a big advocate for Curves and all its products. I am now fighting a recurrence, yet I am still able to come to curves and workout. Signed a Proud Curves Member Thank You Lori Ramsey
