My Story
Dear Curves Friends,
Curves has saved my life twice since 2005. In 2004 after 20 years of being a widow, I met a great guy named Paul. Like myself, he was very overwieght and loved to eat. When we got engaged in early 2005, I knew I had to do something to get in shape before the wedding. I had my gall bladder out in late March and joined Curves in May, weighing in at about 300 pounds. By September I had lost 25 pounds and over 20 inches. IN January of 2006 I was in a car crash and stopped going to Curves. Life happened, I changed jobs, had a death in the faily that left me extremely depressed and by July 2007, I weighed 355 pounds, had high blood pressure and severe hyperlipidemia. I joined Herkimer, NY Curves in August @ 348 pound and nearly crippled by my weight and poor physical condition. Nancy and the staff at Herkimer were patient and inspiring, in spite of myself. In October of 2007, I broke my foot and was in a wheelchair for two months. The staff called and sent cards and welcomed me back with open arms in January 2008. On September 15 I acheived my 100th work out at CUrves and had lost 52 pounds. On 9/16/08 I had weight loss surgery. Again, the Cruves staf called, sent cards and encouraged me to continue taking good care of myself and return to Curves as soon as I felt up to it. Six weeks later, moving a little slow, they worked with me diligently to get me back on track toward my health and fitness goals. Now it's July 2009, I feel great and have reached my interim goal weight of 175. I couldn't have done it without CUrves. I am a lifetime Curves woman. Thanks to Curves, I have my life back:)
