My Story
I think that my story is pretty amazing. In 2006 I started Weight Watchers and joined Curves- I successfully lost 50 pounds and never felt better in my life in the summer of 2007. It all started with a routine blood test an d in October of 2007 I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Colrectal Cancer. I underwent Chemotherapy, Radiation, extensive surgery and more Chemo. My Curves was supportive-especially our wonderful manager Chrissie. I came back after Radiation and Chemo and participated in the St. Jude's fundraiser- a cause dear to my heart-because my cousin was undergoing treatment there. I'm happy to report he is now Cancer free!! After my surgery and chemo I came back and with the encourgement of Chrissie, Diana and many members- I am slowly making it around the cicuit again. I have been Cancer free for a little over a year now. I hope this inspires somebody who thinks they can't come back from devastating illness- you can, with the encouragement from my wonderful husband and family and the wonderful people at my Curves- Iam and I will triumph and so can you!
