My Story
I am writing to tell you about a Truly Amazing Curves member, my friend, Jennifer Govorcin. Jennifer is the only member in our club with over 1000 workouts. She is a inspiration to me and all of our members and has lost 80 lbs!!!
You see, Jennifer has MS and fibormyalgia. She is currently on no medication and credits this to the Curves Smart technology and eating properly!
Jennifer is at the club working out nearly every morning encouraging us to workout to our full potiential, just as she does. She inspires us to do and be the best that we can. She has become a fixture at our club. She always has a kind word, remembers everyones name, and is always passing around a birthday card or two for us to sign for other members.
Jennifer, also being a former employee of another Curves facility is DEDICATED to the Curves Smart complete 30 minute workout and weight managment programs.
She is a fixture at our club and we would not know what to do without our AMAZING Jennifer.
Thank You,
Kathi Bird
Member since 2004

"I\'m truly amazed that Kathi Bird did this to me she is the most amazing person.Yes I do go to curves everyday, but thats me I do try to encourage members to do the best they can. My neurology doctor, took me off 15 different medications, and to walk around the block for a week, and to increase it each week,so I did until I reach 3 miles. Fibormyalgia is no picnic, and we have a lot of members who have it. as for my MS,it is dormant now since I Join Curves four years ago. Thanks to my Doctor, which gave me free pass to curves after losing 80 Pounds. Im a retied nurse, and I care about everybody. If I don\'t see them for awhile, I still remember there names, and as for birthdays everybody wants to be remember on that day because you don\'t know if they have anybody. I\'m so lucky because I do workout, and I don\'t have pain anymore. I have even learned more from Shanda Young the owner of our new curves. And her girls are the greates. We all get together for bowling, Bunko, diners, am. and pm. members. We have alot of fun. I go six days week. M.W.F.full work out, T.T.S. Pads only, thats the way I was told to do it.I will Never stop Going to cuvers so don\'t close.I\'m sure there are more desvering members, because we work at it. Besides I\'m not going to a coed gym, I\'m to old for that. Thank you Kathi and Thank you Curves. "

"I really did'nt want this , but I guess I'm here. I have raised 5 kids, and have 9 grandchildren,I'm retired and try to alot of things. And if your going on what a young women that sits a the couch after 2 children, wait till she becomes my age. My oldest grandchild is 32. Because when you get older it is harder to lose the weight and inches.I have been going to curves for 4 years and 1200 workouts. I have work very hard at I go six day a week I do the machines 3 days and the pads the other three days, thats the way I was taught. So if those who want to sit on a couch and watch soap go right ahead, because when you get a certain age it's hard. I try to encourge those who do have a hard time. One of our menbers Sharon just joined two months ago and is no longer a asthmatic, I also try to get the members to go bowling, bunco, and other activitys, morning, afternoon, evening members, and it has been alot of fun. And they feel good about them self. I'm sorry this is so long, but when read some of the others, well no comment.I have seen to many members come and go. I saw a member lose a 100 lbs and never came back. You are what you are. You have to be the one to chose what you want."

"When our curves closed, with one day notice I was devastate, but when my curves closed fot the holidays I found another one to go to and workout close by,and that was were I went, and I'm glad I did, Plus everybody followed me. and we are very happy here. Shanda Young Is a shinning Star curves and does alot for cancer, food drives, and the members really look up to her and her staff. The curves I went to they really din't care. Shanda is at 41st ave and bell rd.Phx.Az. I used to work for curves as an independent contractor, and I was amazed when I went to Shanda. There are alot of members that are amazing. But when I read the Diana magazine it's always about the east coast and calif. What can we to change that?. I know you don't have many shinning stars curves. I also want to know why Diana Cordova was chosen for manger of the year. And I want to Know how to Get us on the map. "

"WOW!! What can I possibly say that Kathi hasn't already mentioned about Jennifer? She has been an inspiration to so many of us Curve members. I can't tell you how many times she has corrected me on the machines so I get the full potential of my workout. She's always observing, eager to teach, recommend and pushing to strive for the best we can be...way to go Jen! With all the obstacles Jennifer has faced, she always has a smile on her face, proving that with hard work, you can achieve success. From birthday cards to organizing fun outings, to commitment to working out to overcome health issues, Jennifer has her act together. She makes all of us laugh with her humor....isn't that right Jennifer? Thanks Jennifer...you're the best, my friend! Sherry Ratcliff Curves Member since 2004 Member"
