My Story
When I joined Curves a few years ago I tried to avoid telling people what I was doing because there were usually one of two reactions. The first reaction was laughter and the question why. The second was a concerned look and I'm sure the thought "That woman is way too skinny already, she must have a problem!"

Even though I am a small person I have several reasons why Curves has helped me. I don't try to keep it a secret anymore. I started exercising because I needed to relieve stress and gain strength. I've always been a worrier and I had been reading how exercising could reduce stress. Because I have always been a small person exercise wasn't necessary to maintain weight control but by not exercising I had become weak once my kids were big enough not to be carried around. After several months of just thinking about how I should exercise I decided to try Curves. A good motivator for me joining Curves was I was going to pay to exercise. Since I am a "bean counter" I knew that I would not want to waste my money so I would show up regularly. When I wasn't paying it was so much easier to say I will go for a walk tomorrow.

After joining Curves my son was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. Anyone that has been affected by diabetes knows that it is an extremely complicated disease. Curves has helped me get through the day to day stress of dealing with the roller coaster blood sugar levels.

As the wall says "Every 'body' needs exercise." My stress level is reduced, I'm a lot stronger, and I'm sure my general health has improved. I've also made new friends which was a benefit I hadn't thought of when I started.

Thank you Curves for improving my life!
